Veterans Day Observances Across Southwest Florida — Tuesday, November 11, 2025
Southwest Florida communities will come together Tuesday to honor those who served our nation with Veterans Day ceremonies and parades throughout the region.
In Charlotte County, the annual Veterans Day Parade begins at 9:00 a.m. at Port Charlotte Beach Park, traveling along Harbor Boulevard to Edgewater Drive, ending at William R. Gaines Jr. Veterans Memorial Park. Later in the day, the Military Heritage Museum in Punta Gorda will host a free celebration featuring an 11:00 a.m. ceremony, lunch, and Huey helicopter tours.
In Sarasota, the city’s Veterans Day Parade steps off at 10:00 a.m. from Main Street and Orange Avenue and concludes with a ceremony at J.D. Hamel Park at 11:00 a.m. Parade-goers should note early morning street closures and parking restrictions downtown.
In DeSoto County, a Veterans Day Ceremony will take place at 11:00 a.m. at the DeSoto County Courthouse in Arcadia. Local veterans, families, and residents are encouraged to attend and pay tribute to those who served.
Government offices and many public facilities in all three counties will be closed in observance of the holiday.
