Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota has just unveiled their most expansive season yet, and if you’ve been sleeping on chamber music, this is the year to wake up. Running October 2026 through May 2027, the organization is presenting 24 performances across intimate venues that span the entire Suncoast from Sarasota to Venice. This marks their 31st year bringing world-class musicians to our community, and the lineup proves they’re not resting on their laurels. The season features competition winners, rising international talent, and some genuinely adventurous programming that blends classical masterworks with jazz, contemporary works, and genre-crossing collaborations.
What makes Artist Series different is the philosophy behind their venues. Instead of massive concert halls where you’re watching performances from a distance, they’re using residential spaces, botanical gardens, historic churches, and intimate theaters. Executive Director Keren Shani-Lifrak describes the experience perfectly: when the audience is close enough to see the performers’ expressions and energy, the music just feels different. The 2026-27 lineup includes 2026 Coltman Chamber Music Competition winners, rising violinist Hyun Jae Lim fresh off winning the Seoul International Music Competition, and acts like Biribá Union and Schmaltz & Pepper that prove chamber music doesn’t have to be predictable.
Beyond the concerts themselves, Artist Series runs the Suncoast Music Scholarships, providing financial support to talented high school musicians in Sarasota and Manatee counties. If you’re interested in catching some performances this season, here’s the move: grab early-bird discounted tickets before August 31. What kind of music experience would make you want to get out and support live performances in your community?
