A West Virginia family’s tragedy is unfolding in court this week, with a 39-year-old man charged with three counts of first-degree murder following the stabbing deaths of his ex-wife and her two teenage children. Joshua Deel initially told police that an unknown, masked attacker had invaded their home in Lesage early Tuesday morning. But investigators quickly discovered that his account didn’t match the physical evidence at the scene. In fact, Deel had been caught the night before placing his phone under one of the victim’s bedroom doors to take photos. After questioning, he confessed to all three murders.
