A former nurse is facing serious charges after prosecutors say he sexually assaulted two teenage boys in the moments after they woke up from surgery. John Tam, 43, was arraigned Monday in Massachusetts on eight counts including indecent assault and battery on a patient by a health care provider.
Court documents allege the assaults took place while the boys were recovering from medical procedures and in a vulnerable state. Tam has been released without bail but is under strict conditions. He cannot work in health care, and he cannot have unsupervised contact with minors. A separate charge from a 2023 incident at another hospital is also pending.
