Saturday night in Sarasota gets a whole lot better this weekend. Satchel’s Last Resort is hosting Satchel’s Giving Day on September 12 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Big Top Brewing, and it’s free to get in. The event honors Satchel, the late dog of shelter founder Page Knoebel, whose name has become synonymous with second chances for animals across the Suncoast.
Expect live music from the Kara Nally Band, raffle baskets, and food and drinks throughout the evening. The real impact comes from the giving side: every donation made during the event is matched up to $25,000, meaning your contribution goes twice as far for cats and dogs waiting on their forever homes.
