A two-year-old girl was killed Wednesday night in a hit-and-run in North Charleston, South Carolina, and police have now arrested both the suspected driver and the child’s guardian. Officers found Haisha Dominguez Marin near Rivers Avenue and Eagle Drive. Investigators traced the suspected vehicle, a 2020 Toyota Tacoma, to its registered owner, and the driver, 27-year-old Anayely Lovato Guerrero, was taken into custody on charges of reckless homicide and leaving the scene.
According to police, Guerrero said she had left a Goodwill store, heard a bang, did not notice anything, and continued driving. The child’s guardian, 21-year-old Glaimar Alejandra Ramirez Dominguez, was also arrested and charged with unlawful conduct toward a child. Police stated that the circumstances surrounding the care and supervision of the child were disputed by the evidence available to detectives. The investigation remains ongoing.
