A 50-year-old Miami-Dade County woman is facing burglary and battery charges after deputies say she forced her way into her next-door neighbor’s side of a split trailer and threw a bucket of human feces on her. Yirsi Esperanza Machado Rivera allegedly accused the victim of sleeping with her husband before carrying out the attack, which investigators say happened around 6:15 p.m. last Monday at a mobile home park near Miami Gardens.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, a witness said Machado Rivera claimed she pooped in a bucket specifically to throw it in the victim’s face. At a bond hearing, she denied entering the home or throwing anything, telling the judge she was only getting rid of a bucket of “caca” because her toilet was broken. Judge Mindy Glazer ordered her held without bond.
The charges mean the case will move through the courts, where the allegations will be tested like any other. Meanwhile, it joins a long line of Florida headlines that make the rest of the country ask what’s in our water. If you share a wall with a neighbor, what’s the rule you live by?
