Melissa & Doug Fire Truck Sold at Target Recalled: How Suncoast Parents Can Check Theirs and Get a Refund

About 84,000 Melissa & Doug Lights & Sounds Fire Truck Activity Boards sold at Target have been recalled because the fire hose port can detach, creating a choking hazard for young children. The toys were sold at Target stores and online from July 2025 through August 2026 for roughly $30, which means plenty of them landed in Suncoast homes as birthday and holiday gifts over the past year.

To find out if yours is affected, turn the toy over and check the date wheels. Recalled units show 25 with a 4 or 5, or 26 with a 3. You can also check the package date code, which will read OET 25100, OET 25150 or OET 26064. The toy itself is red plastic with four black wheels, a white rotating ladder and a black fire hose connector, with “Melissa & Doug” embossed on the battery compartment.

If your fire truck matches, stop letting kids play with it and register at melissaanddoug.com/recall. You can choose a free replacement, a $30 refund, or a $40 store credit. It’s a quick process, and it’s worth doing before the next grandkid visit. Have you checked your toy bins yet?
