A Louisiana high school’s homecoming football game ended early Friday night after a fight between two of the team’s own coaches. Oberlin Tigers head coach Robert Etheridge and assistant coach Jaden Brasseaux argued on the sideline before halftime, according to police, and the altercation continued into the locker room, where the two exchanged punches and Etheridge flipped a desk. Centerville was leading 36-6 when the game was called.
Allen Parish Superintendent Brad Soileau addressed the incident directly, apologizing to Oberlin and to the visiting Centerville Bulldogs. “There’s no excuse for it,” he said, adding that there will be a full investigation and that those responsible will be held accountable. Oberlin’s chief of police, Grady Haynes, confirmed the details of the locker room altercation.
