Robert Kelker-Kelly, the actor who stepped into one of daytime’s most recognizable roles, has died at 62. He passed Saturday at his home in St. Peters, Missouri. Police responded to a report of an unconscious man who was not breathing, and reports indicate he had complained of chest pain before becoming unresponsive. His official cause of death has not been released.
Kelker-Kelly played Bo Brady on Days of Our Lives from 1992 to 1995, a run that made him a familiar face in millions of living rooms. He went on to appear on Port Charles, General Hospital, and Touched by an Angel. Away from the camera, he built a second career as a professional pilot, a path that took him far from Hollywood.
His death has also brought renewed attention to claims in Lisa Rinna’s memoir about their time working together on Days, with descriptions of the relationship that were anything but flattering. That history is now circulating alongside the tributes, giving fans a complicated set of feelings to work through.
