Suncoast travelers have a new nonstop option heading to North Texas. Avelo Airlines announced Wednesday that it will begin service between Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) and McKinney National Airport (DTX) on December 16, 2026. The route will operate twice weekly, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, giving locals a direct path to the Dallas area without a connection.
The introductory fare is the headline: one-way tickets start at $69 for select January dates, but you have to book by October 22, 2026. The promotional travel window runs January 7 through 31, 2027, and seats at that price are limited. Keep in mind that Avelo charges extra for carry-on bags, checked bags, and assigned seats, so it pays to compare the full checkout total before booking. Reservations are available directly through Avelo Airlines.
McKinney itself is worth a look. The city’s historic downtown offers local shops, restaurants, and a slower pace than Dallas proper, and it sits about 30 miles north of the metro. The new route also works in reverse, making it easier for North Texas residents to discover everything the Suncoast offers, from the beaches to the arts scene in Sarasota.
