Trick or Treat on the Lake Returns to Nathan Benderson Park: Free Halloween Fun October 27

Families looking for a safe, free way to celebrate Halloween should circle Tuesday, October 27, on the calendar. Trick or Treat on the Lake returns to Regatta Island at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., with free admission and free parking presented by Alpha Law Group for a third year.

Nearly 80 themed candy booths hosted by local businesses will line the island, and this year they’re split into smaller villages to cut down on long lines. Sarasota County is turning the park’s Finish Tower into a free, family-friendly haunted house, complete with a waiting area for younger children. Around the park you’ll also find student bands, Thriller dance performances, inflatables, photo ops, and themed vehicles like a haunted bloodmobile and a Breeze bus.

Organizers recommend arriving between 4:30 and 5 p.m. to avoid the traffic and parking congestion that builds later in the evening. With the lake breeze, the candy trail, and the entertainment all in one spot, it’s an easy alternative to door-to-door trick-or-treating.
