Thomas Markle Sr., the 82-year-old father of Meghan Markle, is under investigation for possession of child sexual abuse material, according to multiple reports. His son, Thomas Markle Jr., told police he discovered what he described as hundreds, if not thousands of images in boxes at his father’s home in the Philippines, and The Sun published a photo of Markle Jr. signing a sworn statement submitted to authorities.

Meghan Markle said she is “deeply distressed” by the allegations and confirmed she was informed of “disturbing allegations” against her father back in 2018, years before the current investigation became public. Markle Sr. has denied the claims, calling them “sick lies,” while the Philippines’ Justice Department has confirmed the matter is under active investigation. No charges have been announced at this time.
