Halloween Saturday has a charitable option on the Suncoast. The Gulf Coast Diva Angels host their Halloween Poker Run on Saturday, Oct. 31, with registration from 10 to 11 a.m. at JR’s Old Packinghouse Cafe in Sarasota. It’s $25 per rider and $20 per passenger, and proceeds go to Special Olympics Florida in Manatee County.
The run hits five stops, and you don’t need a motorcycle to take part. Cars are welcome, and men and women both ride along. Everyone returns to the cafe by 2:30 p.m. for the closing festivities, where cash prizes go to the best and worst poker hands, costumes and decorated motorcycles get recognized, the Suncoast Sand Witches perform, and a 50/50 drawing closes out the afternoon.
The Diva Angels were founded in 2005 to bring women who ride together with an emphasis on safety, friendship, and community service. Each year the club chooses nonprofits to support, and this year’s pick is Special Olympics athletes right here in Manatee County. Will we see your costume at the finish line Saturday?
