A NORTH PORT MAN WAS SERIOUSLY INJURED IN AN ACCIDENT THERE EARLY FRIDAY MORNING. NORTH PORT POLICE SAY 30 YEAR OLD JEREMY CHRISMAN WAS SOUTHBOUND ON US 41 AT NORTH PORT BOULEVARD JUST AFTER 3:30AM FRIDAY WHEN HE FAILED TO NEGOTIATE A CURVE IN THE ROADWAY. HIS 2006 TOYOTA DROVE INTO THE CENTER MEDIAN, HITTING SEVERAL TREES AND ROLLING OVER AT LEAST TWICE BEFORE COMING TO REST ON ITS HOOD. A PASSING MOTORIST REPORTEDLY STOPPED AND PULLED THE DRIVER FROM THE CAR AS IT CAUGHT FIRE. CHRISMAN WAS AIRLIFTED TO LEE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL IN SERIOUS CONDITION WITH UNKNOWN INJURIES. POLICE SAY THE INVESTIGATION IS ONGOING AND CHARGES ARE PENDING THE COMPLETION.
