A 62 YEAR OLD BRADENTON MAN WAS KILLED IN THE PARKING LOT OF THE SAM’S CLUB IN SARASOTA LAST NIGHT. THE FLORIDA HIGHWAY PATROL IS WITHHOLDING THE MAN’S NAME PENDING NOTIFICATION OF THE NEXT OF KIN. THEY SAY HE WAS DRIVING RECKLESSLY DOING DONUTS AND RACING AROUND IN THE PARKING LOT OF THE STORE JUST BEFORE 10PM WHEN HE LOST CONTROL OF HIS LEXUS AND DROVE ONTO A GRASSY MEDIAN THAT DIVIDES THE PARKING ISLES. HE BECAME STUCK ON THE MEDIAN OUT AWAY FROM THE BUILDING AND GOT OUT, TRYING TO PUSH THE CAR OFF THE ISLAND. THE CAR CAUGHT FIRE, AND FOR AN UNKNOWN REASON, THE DRIVER GOT BACK IN AND BURNED TO DEATH. TROOPERS SAY THEY WILL AWAIT TEST RESULTS BEFORE DETERMINING IF ALCOHOL PLAYED A FACTOR IN THE ACCIDENT.
