TWO PEOPLE, INCLUDING A LETTER CARRIER, WERE INJURED IN AN ACCIDENT IN NORTH PORT YESTERDAY. POLICE SAY 43 YEAR OLD FRANCOIS ELOI WAS STOPPED TO DELIVER MAIL AT A HOME ON JEANNIN DRIVE JUST BEFORE 1PM WHEN HIS BUICK WAS HIT FROM BEHIND BY A KIA RIO DRIVEN BY 19 YEAR OLD BRIAN RUANO. THE IMPACT DID MAJOR DAMAGE TO BOTH CARS. RUANO WAS AIRLIFTED TO LEE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL WITH A SERIOUS HEAD INJURY, WHILE ELOI WAS TAKEN TO PEACE RIVER REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER IN PORT CHARLOTTE WITH MINOR INJURIES. POLICE SAY THE ACCIDENT IS STILL UNDER INVESTIGATION.
