Easter is almost here, and it appears it’s bringing some not-so-sweet news for chocolate lovers in Southwest Florida. With chocolate prices hopping up 14% this year, shoppers are tightening their purse strings along with their Easter baskets. But don’t despair just yet! As WINK News anchors Corey Lazar and Taylor Petras discovered, local drug stores are stepping in to save the day with some irresistible deals.
CVS, for instance, is offering a whopping 25% off on candy, including fan-favorite Reese’s Eggs. Meanwhile, Walgreens has some intriguing promotions lined up, such as a buy one, get one for a dollar offer. And if you’re a Cadbury Egg fan, you won’t want to miss the buy five, get five free deal! It looks like retailers recognize that shoppers are craving sweet savings this season, and with 37% of people actively searching for deals, it’s clear the price increases are hitting home.
Target and Walmart aren’t left out either, offering up their own Easter candy line-up at competitive prices. Nevertheless, despite the challenges posed by rising costs, more than half of millennials are still determined to carry on their Easter traditions, proving that no matter the price, love for chocolate runs deep. After all, when life gives you skyrocketing prices, it’s time to hunt for deals rather than eggs!
