A school bus carrying twenty-one students crashed Friday evening in Grant Parish, Louisiana, on Highway 71 at Campground Cutoff north of Montgomery. According to officials, nineteen students were transported to hospitals, with most taken to Rapides Regional Medical Center and two airlifted to a trauma center in the Shreveport area. The Grant Parish School Board confirmed that all students were safely transported from the scene, and no casualties have been reported.
The school board released a statement thanking first responders and community members who assisted at the scene, and asked for continued support and prayers for the families involved. Louisiana State Police is leading the investigation into what caused the crash, and more details are expected as that work continues.
