If you picked up a new iPhone in 2024 or early 2025, there’s a good chance you’re owed a little money. Apple agreed to a $250 million settlement over claims that it advertised advanced Siri AI features that weren’t ready when customers were buying. The phones covered are the iPhone 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max, and every iPhone 16 model purchased between June 2024 and March 2025.
To qualify, you needed to be the original purchaser and you couldn’t have bought the phone for resale. Approved claims pay up to $95 per device, though the average payout is expected to land around $25 depending on how many people file. That’s a couple of dinners out on the Suncoast, and it only takes a few minutes to submit at SmartphoneAISettlement.com.
The deadline is December 21, which lands right in the middle of holiday season, snowbird travel, and everything else competing for your attention. A California district court hearing on February 24, 2027, will decide whether to approve the settlement, but claims are being accepted now. Check your phone model and purchase date, and if you know a neighbor or friend who bought one, pass this along.
