Bryant Myers started Friday in handcuffs and ended it under stage lights. The Puerto Rican rapper, legal name Bryan Robert Rohena Perez, was booked at 6:20 a.m. on Oct. 23 after DeSoto County deputies said he drove 113 mph in a 60 mph zone on U.S. 17 and continued for roughly seven miles despite attempts to stop him. He was released from the DeSoto County Jail at 3:50 p.m. on $6,150 bond.
The arrest brought four charges: fleeing and eluding, exceeding the speed limit by 50 mph or more, marijuana possession under 20 grams, and drug paraphernalia possession. All remain pending, meaning the legal side of this story is far from over.
What happened next moved faster than the court calendar. His Instagram story told followers “Tampa, hoy sí o sí. Ya estamo’ afuera,” and videos from at least five TikTok users appeared to show him performing at Grand Fortune in Tampa that night. A jail-to-stage turnaround of a few hours has a lot of Suncoast listeners weighing the same question: would anyone else’s Friday go quite like that? What’s your take—should a pending charge change whether the show goes on?
