A fire at an assisted living facility in the 700 block of South Beneva Road in Sarasota County sent one patient to the hospital late Saturday, Sept. 12. Crews responded around 10:38 p.m. and reported the fire out roughly twenty minutes later. During the response, residents were relocated to another section of the facility.
The injured patient was flown to HCA Florida Blake Hospital. No updates on their condition have been released, and the identity of the patient has not been made public.
