A brush fire erupted over the weekend near the Charlotte Correctional Facility, scorching an alarming 98 acres and causing quite the commotion in the area. With strong winds and dry brush as the culprits, the blaze quickly spread behind the facility, prompting nearby residents to brace for potential evacuations. Shelia Palmore, a local resident, rushed home from Tampa after being alerted about the fire, worried about her pets and the possibility of losing her home.
Thankfully, fire crews were on the scene, working tirelessly with helicopters, fire trucks, and bulldozers to contain the flames and protect nearby structures. Residents had their hearts racing, but once the firefighting efforts kicked in, there was a collective sigh of relief.
