If you want a say in Florida’s November 3 general election, Monday, October 5 is the deadline to register. The date is locked in by state law at 29 days before the election, so it doesn’t shift. New Florida residents, anyone turning 18, and first-time registrants are the ones who need to act before the clock runs out.
Already registered in Florida and just moved? You’re in better shape than you might think. A change of address, whether you relocated from Sarasota to Manatee County or somewhere else in the state, is all you need. The hard deadline mostly affects people coming from out of state or registering for the very first time.
This year’s ballot is packed. Federal, state, and legislative races, local contests here on the Suncoast, and the constitutional amendments Florida voters weigh in on every cycle. With nearly 13.6 million registered voters statewide as of August 31, every registration counts. You can sign up online or visit your county elections office in person before Monday.
Have you checked your voter registration status yet this year?
