A 15-year-old Arizona boy is at the center of a search that has stretched into a second night, and the details uncovered along the way are hard to read. Ryker Lee disappeared from his home in Three Points, about 30 minutes southwest of Tucson, around 10 a.m. Tuesday. Camera footage reportedly shows him leaving about an hour before he was reported missing. He’s described as wearing a neon green shirt and floral-print pants, and he requires insulin for a medical condition, which is why an Arizona Missing Endangered Person Advisory is active.
During the search, Pima County detectives say they found evidence that Ryker had been kept in a small, padlocked room inside an RV on the property, with no running water, no restroom and no air conditioning. His mother, Danielle Lee-Sharp, 39, and stepfather, Michael Menzie, 43, were arrested on three counts of child abuse each. Both appeared in court Wednesday with bonds set at $5,000 and $10,000. Two younger children, ages 8 and 10, were removed from the home by child services.
Neighbors, meanwhile, haven’t waited on anyone. They’ve organized search parties and say they’ll keep going until Ryker is found.
