Manatee County is throwing its first-ever Mixon Fall Market this Sunday, Oct. 25, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the county-owned Mixon property in Bradenton. The event brings together local vendors, Halloween and fall decorations, family activities, and live music from The Doodz, sponsored by AAA. Admission is free, and it’s a short drive for most of the Suncoast.
The county acquired the former Mixon Fruit Farms site about a year ago and has been steadily building it into a community events destination. The property already hosts a weekly farmers market, a farm-themed playground, and rental spaces for parties and weddings. On Sunday, local florist and wedding planner Shy Chic will decorate the gazebo and Grand Pavilion so visitors can see the venue dressed up for a celebration. Event supervisor Rachel Desrosiers describes the market as the familiar farmers market vibe with a fun Halloween and fall twist.
There’s also a community note worth sharing: Commissioner Amanda Ballard closed her ABC7 interview with a message of support for Cooper Kitzman of Parrish, who finished chemotherapy on Wednesday. The county, she said, is proud of him. Will you be heading to the Mixon Fall Market on Sunday? Let us know what you’re most excited to see.
