When a school official did call, the father says the injury was described as superficial with no real explanation of what happened. He waited two hours at the hospital before learning the actual extent of his son’s injuries. During that same window, video of the incident was circulating online, leaving the family to deal with rumors and public reaction before they had basic facts of their own.
Metro Nashville Public Schools says early information suggests the injury was not intentional and occurred during horseplay. The family is calling for stronger safety measures and answers about supervision in the classroom at the time.
