BabyCenter has released its 2026 ranking of the most popular baby names, and the top of the list looks awfully familiar. Olivia and Noah remain the most-chosen names for girls and boys, with the boys’ top five — Noah, Liam, Oliver, Elijah and Mateo — unchanged for the third straight year.
The girls’ side saw far more movement. Eliana climbed five spots to No. 2 after debuting at No. 7 last year, and Magnolia was the only new girl name to break into the top 100, rising 40 spots to No. 88. On the boys’ list, Elias jumped eight spots to No. 7, while Milo, Stetson, Archer and Dean all joined the top 100. For Dean, it’s the first appearance this century.
Whether you’re a parent, a grandparent or just someone who loves a good name debate, these rankings are always a conversation starter. Suncoast families are welcoming babies into a community full of history, and plenty of those little ones are carrying names straight out of this year’s list.
So we have to ask: did your child’s name make the top 100 — or did you go your own way? Tell us in the comments.
