Anel Angel Estremera will spend the next 15 years in a Florida prison for breaking into a Charlotte County home in 2024. According to the state attorney’s office, he stole jewelry, tools, firearms, and a child’s wallet from the residence, then began selling the items to neighbors near the crime scene. Deputies moved in after those sales were reported, and Estremera fled on foot after jumping off a tricycle he had been riding. He was arrested and later sentenced as a habitual felony offender on burglary of a dwelling and multiple other charges.
The sentence breaks down into 15 years for the burglary itself, plus prison time for grand theft, firearm, ammunition, and stolen property charges. Because he was classified as a habitual felony offender, Estremera also violated probation in two prior cases, which factored heavily into the court’s decision. He has been ordered to pay full restitution to the victim.
