Live theater fans on the Suncoast have a full season to look forward to. Sarasota Jewish Theatre has unveiled its seventh season, running October 2026 through May 2027, and it opens with a true hometown moment: the world premiere of “Kaddish for the Barrio,” written by Sarasota actor and playwright Gabriel Ortiz and directed by Preston Boyd. The show runs October 7-11, 2026, with tickets at $36.
In January, Broadway performer Lauren Molina headlines “Sing in the Season” on January 9-10, 2027. The concert traces Jewish musical theater from its Yiddish roots through composers like Stephen Sondheim, a perfect outing for anyone who loves a great show tune. Then the three-play Howard J. Millman Performance Series carries the season from February through May with Joshua Harmon’s “We Had a World,” Ron Hutchinson’s “Moonlight and Magnolias,” and Diane Samuels’ “Kindertransport.”
Mainstage subscriptions range from $113 to $130, and the season is supported by the Community Foundation of Sarasota County, The Exchange, and Manatee Community Foundation.
