A trough of low pressure south of Florida is pushing tropical moisture into Southwest Florida, and it will keep rain chances elevated from Wednesday straight through the weekend. Wednesday brings a fifty percent chance of scattered showers and storms, mainly during the afternoon and evening hours.
Thursday and Friday turn breezier, with wind gusts of twenty to twenty-five miles per hour over land. That means choppy conditions on the Gulf and a good chance of afternoon thunderstorms that could produce heavy rainfall. Saturday is the wettest day of the stretch, with rain chances climbing to sixty and seventy percent and reaching eighty percent in some areas by the afternoon and evening.
Sunday offers a slight break. Expect morning sunshine before a forty percent chance of storms returns later in the day. Bucs fans heading to Raymond James Stadium should prepare for heat near one hundred degrees and the possibility of storms during the one o’clock kickoff.
