“Focused on the Future: Entering a Third Term”
It is an incredible honor to begin my third term as your Sheriff. Serving the residents of DeSoto County has been one of the greatest privileges of my life, and I remain committed to protecting our community, fostering trust, and enhancing the quality of life for everyone who calls DeSoto County home.
It is an incredible honor to begin my third term as your Sheriff. Serving the residents of DeSoto County has been one of the greatest privileges of my life, and I remain committed to protecting our community, fostering trust, and enhancing the quality of life for everyone who calls DeSoto County home.
Moving forward into this next term, our focus remains clear: improving efficiency, prioritizing public safety by being tough on criminals, leveraging technology to maintain low crime, enhancing traffic enforcement, preparing for county growth, and strengthening our relationships with community partners and organizations. These pillars are essential to building a safer, more united DeSoto County.
I am proud of our dedicated agency for achieving the first Certificate of Accreditation. Moving forward in my next term, one significant area of focus will be our Detention Bureau. Achieving accreditation for our detention facility is a promise to our community that we are meeting the highest standards of professionalism, safety and operational excellence. Accreditation ensures accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement in how we manage and maintain our facilities.
Traffic enforcement will also remain a top priority. By addressing reckless driving, impaired driving and enforcing traffic laws, we can reduce accidents and save lives. Every driver and pedestrian deserve to feel safe on our roads, and our deputies are committed to making that a reality.
Equally important is the ongoing effort to refresh and strengthen community relations. Collaboration with our local businesses, schools, churches, and nonprofit organizations creates a network of support that strengthens our ability to address community concerns effectively. Open communication and mutual respect are the foundation of trust between law enforcement and the public, and we will continue to nurture these vital partnerships.
We plan to embrace new technologies and training opportunities to ensure our deputies and staff have the tools and knowledge needed to serve at the highest level. Investing in our personnel to protect and serve each and every day is an investment in the safety, preparedness and well-being of every resident.
Looking ahead, I am excited about the opportunities that lie before us. Together with your continued support and trust, we will face challenges head-on, celebrate successes and work tirelessly to make DeSoto County a safer, stronger and more connected community.
Thank you for allowing me the privilege of serving as your Sheriff. I am honored to lead a team of dedicated professionals who share a common goal: serving and protecting DeSoto County with integrity, compassion and accountability.
Be Kind, Be Safe, God Bless.
