Riviera Beach resident, Vernon Davis, was โvisitingโ DeSoto County this morning when he attempted to outrun deputies in a foot pursuit after a traffic stop on Rainbow Ave. Davis, a convicted felon, was in possession of a firearm, controlled substance, marijuana, and drug equipment. His foot pursuit earned him a new set of โbraceletsโ along with an extended stay at the DeSoto County Sheriffโs Office Jail.
Davisโ attempt to run from deputies subsequently lead to his arrest for:
*Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon;
*Possession of a firearm with an altered serial number;
*Resisting Officers;
*Driving while license suspended (habitual offender);
*Possession of a controlled substance;
*Synthetic narcotics possession with intent to sell, manufacture, or deliver;
*Possession of marijuana; and
*Possession of drug equipment.
