On 3/9/23, Officer Lagunas conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Hillsborough Ave/Oak St for a traffic infraction. After further investigation, and with the assistance of DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Corporal Baker and K-9 Liberty the driver of the vehicle Jim Danford was arrested. Danford, 61, was charged with Trafficking in Amphetamines (23.1 grams), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana less than 20 grams, and Possession of a Firearm while Committing a Felony.
