Arcadia Woman Struck, Killed by Semitruck on Jones Loop Road
CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. — A 25-year-old Arcadia woman was killed Wednesday night after being struck by a semitruck in Charlotte County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened around Jones Loop Road at Mac Drive, east of the intersection with Knights Drive. Troopers said the woman was attempting to cross the roadway when she was hit by the truck.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office reported that Jones Loop Road at Mac Drive will remain closed for an extended period as the investigation continues.
The crash is under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
