A BODY WAS FOUND INSIDE A BURNING HOME AT 11127 PENDLETON AVENUE, APARTMENT A IN EAST ENGLEWOOD LAST NIGHT.  FIRE OFFICIALS WERE CALLED TO THE DUPLEX JUST BEFORE 8PM AND WERE ABLE TO CONTAIN THE FIRE WITHIN 3 MINUETS.  A SEARCH OF THE HOME AND FOUND THE BODY OF AN ELDERLY WOMAN IN THE BATHROOM.  83 YEAR OLD MASAKO WALSH WAS TAKEN TO ENGLEWOOD COMMUNITY HOSPITAL WHERE SHE WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD.  HER SON ROONEY WAS ABLE TO ESCAPE THE FLAMES.  THE STATE FIRE MARSHAL IS INVESTIGATING THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE, HOWEVER, MAJOR CRIMES UNIT DETECTIVES OF THE CHARLOTTE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE SAYS NOTHING APPEARED SUSPICIOUS.  THE MEDICAL EXAMINER WILL DETERMINE THE EXACT CAUSE OF WALSH’S DEATH.
