A PUNTA GORDA POLICE CANINE UNIT TRACKED DOWN AND LOCATED AN ELDERLY MAN WHO WALKED AWAY FROM HIS HOME WEDNESDAY NIGHT. THE 89 YEAR OLD MAN WHO SUFFERS FROM ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE WAS NOT HURT. POLICE SAY THE MAN WAS REPORTED MISSING AROUND 9:45PM BY A CALLER WHO SAID THE MAN HAD NOT RETURNED HOME FROM A WALK EARLIER IN THE DAY. A CANINE UNIT RESPONDED TO THE AREA ON STILLWATER CIRCLE AND PICKED UP A SCENT AND BEGAN TO TRACK. THE DOG LED OFFICERS FOR ABOUT A MILE TO FEATHERSOUND DRIVE WHERE THE MISSING MAN WAS FOUND UNHARMED. HE WAS RETURNED TO HIS STILLWATER CIRCLE HOME.
