AUTHORITIES SAY CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING IS WHAT CAUSED A MOTHER AND HER TWO CHILDREN TO BE OVERCOME IN THEIR SUV IN PORT CHARLOTTE WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON.  CHARLOTTE COUNTY SHERIFF’S DETECTIVES CONTINUE THEIR INVESTIGATION INTO WHY THE INCIDENT OCCURRED AT THE PEACHLAND PROMENADES JUST AFTER 1:30 WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON.  GOOD SAMARITANS HAD ALREADY PULLED THE FAMILY FROM THE VEHICLE WHEN EMERGENCY UNITS ARRIVED ON SCENE, AND ALL THREE WERE TAKEN TO PEACE RIVER REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER WITH LIFE THREATENING INJURIES.  DEPUTIES SAY THEIR CONDITION HAS STABILIZED, BUT THEY COULD NOT GIVE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION, INCLUDING IF ONE OR MORE WAS TRANSFERRED TO ANOTHER HOSPITAL BECAUSE OF HIPPA PRIVACY LAWS.  THE 2000 NISSAN PATHFINDER WAS TOWED TO THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE AND REMAINS THERE AS THE INVESTIGATION CONTINUES, BUT DETECTIVES HAVE SAID THEY DO NOT SUSPECT FOUL PLAY.
