DCSO Officially Launches Traffic Safety Unit

We are taking action on your concerns regarding the increase in traffic related incidents across the county. Sheriff Potter is proud to announce we have officially launched our Traffic Safety Unit! The primary function of the Traffic Safety Unit is to investigate crashes within DeSoto County and conduct traffic enforcement as needed based on statistical data or public request.

The Traffic Safety Unit’s Deputy Gammad conducted the first traffic stop on King’s Highway, with the driver cited for driving 70 mph in a 55 mph speed zone! Our Traffic Unit as well as ALL additional law enforcement deputies on patrol are prioritizing cracking down on high-speed, reckless drivers and enforcing traffic laws to keep you safe on the roads.
