An automobile crash has left one passenger dead in DeSoto County. A 23 year old Port Charlotte man was a passenger in the car. He was ejected and died at the scene.
The driver was headed north on Kings Highway, south of CR-761, when he lost control of his car, which collided with a guardrail and overturned.
The driver, also a 23-year-old Port Charlotte man, was cited with careless driving involving a death, which carries a mandatory court appearance.
The crash happened shortly before 8:30 p.m.
