DeSoto County Deputy and K-9 Kita Make Narcotics Arrest After Call From Concerned Citizen

Soto County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a concerned citizen regarding drug activity. Deputy Baun responded to the call at the Lettuce Lake Boat Ramp. After responding to assess the scene, Deputy Baun approached Yolanda Kersey, who was parked at the boat ramp.

Yolanda was detained upon discovery that she was driving on a suspended license. Detective Friend and K-9 Kita arrived on scene, and K-9 Kita obliged him with a free-air sniff of the vehicle and alerted to the presence of narcotics.
After conducting a search, a total of 12.78 grams of methamphetamine and 3.19 grams of marijuana was found during the investigation. Yolanda was arrested on charges including Possession of Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
