DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce they are taking action on traffic concerns by adding another law enforcement deputy to expand our Traffic Safety Unit. Deputy Washington will work alongside Deputy Gammad to increase traffic enforcement, conduct traffic stops and prioritize cracking down on high-speed reckless drivers throughout the county.
Since the beginning of April, a total of 684 traffic citations were written across our agency, with 215 written by Deputy Gammad, including several drivers driving at excessive speeds of over 100 mph. He also worked 21 crashes over the last two months. With the expansion of our unit, we are committed to continue patrolling our roadways to prioritize your safety. You deserve to feel safe on the roads!
