Need housing assistance? The County is eligible to receive funding in locally administered limits or in the unincorporated areas of the County. In order to be considered for assistance, annual income by family size may not exceed 120% of the area median income for DeSoto County.
programs through the Florida Housing Finance Corporation. Funds will be utilized for a variety of low-to-moderate housing initiatives. Applicants may reside within the incorporated City of Arcadia.

Direct assistance is being offered to qualified applicants through the following programs:
Purchase Assistance
Owner Occupied Rehabilitation
Program Description: Funds are available to income eligible applicants for the purchase of an existing home or new construction of a home. Subsidy will be subject to a 0% non- amortizing mortgage. Funds are due and payable at time of transfer of ownership. Maximum subsidy is tiered by income category as follows:
Program Description: Funds are available for the rehabilitation of existing owner occupied housing. Funds will be utilized to correct code related items. Funds are subject to a 0% mortgage. The maximum per unit award is $65,000. Funds may be leveraged with other public/private sources as necessary and available.
