DeSoto County Schools Offers Free Summer Meals for Kids and Teens
Arcadia, FL — DeSoto County Schools is making sure no child goes hungry this summer with the return of its Summer BreakSpot program, offering free, healthy, and nutritious meals to children and teens under 18 years old.
The program runs on Tuesdays through Thursdays from June 3 to 26, July 1 & 2, and July 8 to 31, with no meals served on Mondays or Fridays. Families can visit the DeSoto Public Library from 12:00 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. to pick up meals.
With the theme “Friends. Food. Free. All Summer Long.”, the initiative ensures children in the Arcadia community continue receiving the nourishment they need when school is out. No registration or ID is required—just show up and enjoy a meal.
For more information, families can call 363-494-4222.
The Summer BreakSpot is organized by the School District of DeSoto County, an equal opportunity provider.
