SAVE THE DATE!
Have you wanted to clean out your medicine cabinet, but didn’t know what to do with all of those prescriptions?
The DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce that on October 29th, 2022 we will be encouraging everyone to participate in the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA’s) National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day!
This day is designated to address vital public safety and health issues. Many Americans are unaware that medicines that are forgotten in home cabinets are highly susceptible to diversion, misuse, and abuse.
In addition, many Americans do not know how to properly dispose of their unused medications, often flushing them down the toilet or throwing them away – posing safety and environmental hazards.
The DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office has a large green drug deposit drop-off box near our east entrance, to the left of the Jail Lobby door. This is a year round resource where DeSoto residents or guests can anonymously dispose of any medications.
BUT BEFORE YOU DO:
NO SHARPS/NEEDLES
NO LIQUIDS
ONLY Plastic Containers or Clear Plastic Bags
Thank you!
