The DeSoto County Sheriff’s office says a repeat offender has been arrested after allegedly stealing a vehicle, using it to steal charcoal from a dollar general, and then trying to conceal the vehicle by driving it into the peace river. 59 year old Felix Guzman was seen on video footage obtained by the Sheriff’s office stealing the charcoal. The vehicle belonged to a friend of Guzman’s who gave him the car to fix. Guzman was arrested on charges of property damage, breaking fences used to contain animals, retail theft, grand theft of a motor vehicle, tampering with evidence and proving false information to law enforcement.
