DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office Arrest Update

Back in May, we informed you about Gregory Paul Summers Jr.’s arrest during a traffic stop that led to the discovery of illegal narcotics and a firearm. Now, Summers is back in custody after violating his supervised pretrial release.

On October 2, 2024, #TeamDCSO Narcotics Unit detectives tracked Summers down, executing a traffic stop and search. During the search, detectives once again found cocaine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia—this time less than 300 feet from Clark’s Brother Memorial Park.

Sheriff Potter emphasizes that our agency has zero tolerance for any activity that puts our residents, especially children, in harm’s way. The presence of illegal narcotics near a community park is unacceptable. Summers now faces several charges, including Possession of Cocaine within 1,000 feet of a park.
