On Monday, June 6, 2022, the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit was conducting surveillance on a nuisance drug residence in the area of Sugar Babe Road. After observing multiple vehicles leaving the residence at the same time, Detectives conducted a traffic stop on one of the vehicles for a stop sign violation. A positive K9 alert led Detectives to the location of over 40 grams of Methamphetamine (42.68 to be exact). Monica Jackson, the rear passenger, was arrested for Trafficking in Methamphetamine (28-200 grams), Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Sell or Deliver, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Sheriff Potter reminds individuals living in and driving through DeSoto County that he does not stand for illegal criminal activity in DeSoto County. Be Alert, Be Safe, Be Kind #besafebekind
