The DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office has officially kicked off its 2025 Shop with the Sheriff event, marking the start of a weeklong effort to bring holiday joy to children and families throughout the county.
This year’s program began with a special gift-wrapping session supported by the Arcadia Rotary Club, whose members volunteered their time to help wrap presents and spread seasonal cheer. Deputies say the partnership with local civic groups is a vital part of making the event successful each year.
Throughout the week, deputies will accompany selected children on festive shopping trips, helping them choose holiday gifts for themselves and their loved ones. The program is designed to support families facing financial hardship, while also giving children a memorable, positive experience with law enforcement.
Sheriff’s Office officials said the goal remains the same: brighten the holidays for as many kids as possible and strengthen community connections across DeSoto County.
With more shopping trips scheduled in the coming days, deputies say the smiles, laughter, and excitement are just getting started.
