The DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an in-custody death.
On January 17, 2022, inmate Jesse Aaron Boone was discovered unresponsive in his cell of the DeSoto County Jail. Lifesaving measures were immediately administered by jail staff and Boone was transported to DeSoto Memorial Hospital but efforts were unsuccessful. The decedent had been in custody since November 20, 2021 on narcotics related charges. Next of kin has been notified.
